It’s officially football season here in the South!
That means party food, every. single. Saturday. And I wouldn’t have it any other way! We wait for this day all year long, and once it’s here, we don’t care what the calendar says: it’s officially fall!
One of my favorites is on the menu today: little smokies in the crockpot. Honestly, anything in the crockpot is a favorite, just for the simple fact that it smells up your house in the most glorious way!
My little smokies recipe is tried and true and is a crowd pleaser every single time.
Here’s what you need:
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup grape jelly
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- Garlic powder to taste
- 1 package little smokies
After making these a million times, you memorize the repetitive ingredient amounts. Of course, double or triple the recipe depending on how many people you’re feeding.
The barbecue sauce flavor is up to you, but I use Sweet Baby Rays Hickory & Brown Sugar – in fact, I insist. It’s a little tangy and a lot of sweet and perfectly combines with these ingredients!
Pair these with some queso and jalapeño poppers and you’re good to go! Stay tuned for the recipe for Wesley’s Famous Jalapeño Poppers!
Happy Friday, Happy Football Season and Happy Fall Y’all!
