Barbecue Brown Sugar Pork Chops with Apples

This weekend has been the perfect weekend for all things food. It has been cold and rainy and for me that means two things: cooking and cleaning.

Today I made the most tender, sweet and juicy pork chops you have ever put in your mouth. They fall apart when you pick them up!

Pork chops and apples compliment each other perfectly, and this dish adds a sweet barbecue sauce to the mix. Also, it’s a super easy recipe with only 4 ingredients plus water.

Apples bring out the flavor of the pork chops in this recipe. I served mine with baked ranch potatoes (recipe coming soon) and bacon parmesan green beans.

Here’s what you will need:

  • Thin cut pork chops
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 bottle barbecue sauce (I prefer honey barbecue for this specific recipe)
  • 2 medium red apples
  • 1 cup water

First, peel and dice your apples.

Spread half the apples in the bottom on your crock pot. Put your pork chops in a single layer on top of the apples and place the other half of the apples on top of the pork chops.

In a large bowl, mix barbecue sauce, water and brown sugar. Whisk until mixture is smooth.

Pour evenly on top of the pork chops.

Cook on low for 6 hours or on high for 3.

Stir and flip every hour.

Absolutely deeeelicious. Be sure you serve with apples on top – they’re so soft and the flavor is amazing!

Now that dinner is over it’s time for some of the banana pudding I made yesterday! And it’s also time to talk some Monday motivation into my heart so I can keep my sanity tomorrow.
