It’s 2am and 62 degrees here in Alabama and I’m lying in bed, exhausted, with the A/C on.
Christmas in Dixie, right?
Santa came to our house shortly after Jase fell asleep, and Eric and I decided it was a perfect time to open our gifts from each other. I must say, the hubby did an awesome job picking out gifts for me this year. I scored some awesome spa things for “me time”, some beautiful new jewelry, shoes, and perfume. I’ll post pictures soon!
After we were finished, we came to check on Jase and noticed a hot and red rash on his body, but only on the parts of his body he was laying on. His temperature was 100.1. It freaked us out so we turned the lights on and made him wake up just to make sure he was alert. I fixed him some milk with Advil and called the answering service at our doctors office. The nurse was puzzled. It really is the weirdest thing. It happened earlier in the day today, too. He woke up from his nap and his face was on fire. But I put him in a lukewarm bath and it went away quickly. He has been fighting a small cold the last couple of days, but nothing major: a runny nose and a cough now and then. She says we may need to take him to the ER since he’s got a low-grade fever, but said she wanted to talk to the doctor first. Luckily, the doctor didn’t think that was necessary due to his symptoms (or lack thereof). They came to the conclusion that it was a heat rash due to the fever. I can deal with that. And my mommy mind was relieved!
So after the calls back and forth and the fact that it’s 2 in the morning, I’m exhausted but wide awake. I’m going to need coffee in an IV in the morning!
I hope y’all have a very Merry Christmas!
